Business Intelligence Analyst

Our Client:

Our client, a well recognised leader in retail, is seeking a Business lntelligence Analyst with strong business intelligence expertise to partner with their local Operations team in Australia. This role is pivotal in supporting the financial analysis, planning, and control of a rapidly expanding retail network, working closely with operational and cross-functional teams to drive performance improvements and strategic decision-making.

This role will be a 6 to 9 month maternity leave cover.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will utilize your expertise in SQL, automation, and business intelligence tools such as PowerBI or Quicksight to analyse financial and operational data. You will develop financial models, create insightful reports, and collaborate with stakeholders across operations, retail, IT, transportation, and supply chain to maximise long-term value. Key responsibilities include supporting network expansion projects, standardising reporting and BI tools, and influencing decision-making to enhance financial and operational outcomes.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in finance, tax, or a related analytical field, with a proven ability to apply financial performance indicators (KPIs) and create process improvements through automation. Strong SQL skills, experience with cube engine tools like TM1, Cognos, or Essbase, and proficiency in visualisation tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Quicksight are essential. You will also preferably hold an MBA or CPA and experience with large-scale data mining and financial systems like Oracle or SAP. You will also have a good track record of involvement in data migration projects.
