  • We are seeking an experienced Agile Coach for a Federal Government client.
  • 12-15 Month contract (Up to 30 June 2026) with a potential 2 * 6 month extensions
  • Hybrid Working
  • Locations Include: Parramatta NSW, Penrith NSW, Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC, Adelaide SA and Brisbane QLD
  • 40 hours per week
  • Baseline clearance required


Agile Coaches guide the implementation and tuning of agile methodologies in organisations.

An Agile Coach is required to establish Agile ways of working across program delivery teams. They will work closely with all Project Managers, ScrumMasters, Product Owners,and Stream Leads to ensure consistent ways of working are applied, enabling business engagement and visibility of priorities and progress.


Key duties and responsibilities include:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and drive Scaled Agile transformation across program teams and business units
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align Scaled Agile practices with organisational goals
  • Create and execute a roadmap for Scaled Agile maturity, facilitating workshops and training to elevate Agile practices at all levels
  • Provide hands-on coaching to the executive, delivery and operational managers, product owners, teams and individuals in SAFe6, Scrum, Kanban, Product Management and Ownership, and other Agile techniques
  • Mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams to enhance their Agile maturity and effectiveness
  • Offer tailored coaching sessions based on the needs and maturity levels of different teams
  • Support and facilitate key Agile ceremonies, acorss both program iterations and sprints.
  • Guide teams in adopting continuous improvement practices, helping them identify opportunities to enhance processes and remove blockers
  • Champion Agile principles and values, ensuring they are understood and adhered to by all team members
  • Advocate for practices that drive a collaborative, transparent, and high-performance culture (e.g., program increment and sprint rituals, continuous delivery, test-driven development, DevOps)
  • Foster a mindset of innovation and experimentation within teams
  • Define and track Agile metrics (e.g., flow metrics, velocity, lead time, cycle time, etc.) to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide regular reports to leadership on the progress of Agile adoption and overall team performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment and delivery of business value
  • Work closely with product management, development, QA, and other functions to streamline workflows and optimise value delivery
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning by organising training sessions, workshops, , knowledge sharing, and relevant certification where appropriate
  • Conduct program and sprint retrospectives to help teams reflect, adapt, and improve their processes and collaboration
  • Act as a change agent, guiding teams and stakeholders through the complexities of Agile transformation
  • Support teams and leadership in navigating resistance to change and fostering a growth mindset.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven and pragmatic experience in leading Agile transformations in hybrid Agile-Waterfall delivery environments and coaching teams across various levels of maturity
  • Strong experience in facilitating and coaching implementations and operational capability sustainment using SAFe6, Scrum, Kanban, Product Management and Ownership, and other Agile techniques
  • Strong experience in working collaboratively with stakeholders to uplift internal capabilities in different ways of working
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an enterprise-scale environment
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence without authority
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in different contexts
  • Ability to assess and adapt Agile approaches to suit organisational needs and team dynamics
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to track metrics and derive actionable insights
  • Passionate about Agile methodologies and continuous improvement
  • Highly collaborative and capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.


Essential Criteria:

1. 2. 5+ years of experience working in Scaled Agile environments, with at least 2+ years as an Agile Coach or Release Train Engineer

3. Certified ScrumProfessional (CSP) Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC), or similar Agile certification(s)

4. Experience with Agile tools such as JiraAlign, Jira, Confluence, Trello, or Azure DevOps.


Desirable Criteria:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field

2. Advanced Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Certified Agile Leadership (CAL), etc.)
