Overview
As a Data Scientist at Coterie Holdings Ltd., you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data-driven future. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, you will be a key member of a small, high-performing data, analytics & insight team, working closely with the Analytics Manager and Analytics Business Partners to design, develop, and deploy innovative AI and BI solutions across the Coterie group. You'll leverage your expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, including BigQuery, Vertex AI Studio, and Looker, to extract actionable insights from complex datasets and transform raw data into impactful business decisions. Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement AI/ML models: Design, build, and deploy machine learning models using Vertex AI Studio to address key business challenges across various departments within Coterie. This includes model selection, training, evaluation, and deployment, ensuring model performance and scalability.
- Data warehousing and manipulation: Utilise BigQuery to effectively manage and transform large, complex datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity. Develop robust and efficient data pipelines to support analytical needs.
- Develop interactive dashboards: Create insightful and user-friendly dashboards using Looker to visualise key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Business problem solving: Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify key business problems and opportunities, translate them into data science problems, and deliver impactful solutions.
- Data analysis and interpretation: Conduct comprehensive data analyses to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Communicate findings clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration and communication: Work collaboratively with the Analytics Manager, Analytics Business Partners, and other stakeholders across the Coterie group to ensure seamless implementation and adoption of developed solutions.
- Stay current: Remain up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI, BI, and data science technologies and methodologies.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Scientist, utilising GCP technologies (BigQuery, Vertex AI Studio, Cloud Composer, Airflow, Looker)
- Strong programming skills in Python or R
- Experience with machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, etc.)
- Experience with data visualisation and dashboarding tools
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
- A strong understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science)
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing and big data processing
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
