Key Responsibilities:


Design, Implement, and Manage Secure Network Systems:

  • Develop and maintain secure LAN and WAN network infrastructures.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other security devices to ensure robust protection against potential threats.


Network Monitoring and Incident Response:

  • Proactively monitor network activity to identify and respond to security incidents.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to pinpoint vulnerabilities and implement effective countermeasures.


Automation of Network Processes:

  • Utilize automation tools and scripting languages to streamline tasks, minimize human error, and improve network efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to integrate security and automation strategies across the organization.


Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, automation processes, and implementation procedures.
  • Ensure all network systems comply with best practices and security policies.


Candidate Profile:


Technical Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and related security technologies.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
  • Practical experience with network management tools and technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, and Linux.


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to handling security issues.
  • Strong communication abilities, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Dutch (C1 level) is required, with good command of English and a basic understanding of French being advantageous.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Must hold Belgian nationality.
  • Availability to work at least half-time on-site in Brussels (easily accessible by public transport, with free underground parking provided).
