What does a day as a Senior Spend Cloud front-end developer look like?

Spend Cloud front-end developers are responsible for helping mature the code stack. So, your day could look something like this:

You can start your day whenever you like, as long as you’re in time for the daily stand-up at 08:45. Together with the multi-disciplinary team you’re a part of, you use scrum and Jira to talk through your planning. After a cup of coffee/tea you join the weekly refinement meeting, which takes up an hour tops. We value efficient meetings and make things short and sweet.

12:30 Lunch time! Working at the office? Then you’re provided with a delicious lunch you can share with your colleagues. There is also enough time to take a walk or play some Mario Kart with fellow front-ender Tom. Working from home? That means it’s your own responsibility to take a break. Balance is very important to us, so don’t forget to take a well-deserved break.

At 13:00 you coordinate with your team to get things done. You work together with both UX professionals and back-end developers to add value to the project. Or, depending on which epic has the most priority, you'll work closely together with the four other front-end developers to advance the tech stack and improve the project at its technical core.

Later in the afternoon, you have a check-in with your fellow front-enders. You’ll exchange feedback, review each other’s code and pair up to work efficiently. Throughout the week, you’ll be able to spar with peers constantly, despite being the only front-ender in one of our multi-disciplinary teams.

What do I need to be a Senior Spend Cloud front-end developer?

You have:

• Experience with reactive web-dev frameworks like React, Vuejs, Svelte or Angular
• Proficiency in CSS, HTML and JavaScript
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Experience with Scrum/Kanban
• An innovative mindset and a proactive attitude
  
  

Optional: Do you have experience with automated testing? Awesome! Not necessary, but very much appreciated. And experience with responsive design and mobile development? Great as well!

You are:

• Currently living in the Netherlands
• Tech-savvy. You have a need to keep up to date with the newest technologies in web-dev
• Able to communicate clearly with your teammates. Everything we do, we do together and we all need to be on the same page
• Opinionated: you have strong ideas about what a codebase should be and about the conditions of product quality
• Able to handle feedback and aren’t afraid to give constructive feedback to others in return
