Junior Data Scientist

Join our team at DHL Supply Chain as a Junior Data Scientist specializing in Warehousing and Transport Optimization, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing our logistics operations. You will have the opportunity to create and develop innovative models using Python, driving improvements in warehousing, transport, and packaging functions. From optimizing routes to enhancing operational efficiency, your work will directly impact the success of our global logistics network.

Your key accountabilities include:

• Create and develop models using Python to optimize warehousing, transport, and packaging functions.
• Build scalable software tools for optimization, simulation, machine learning, and generative AI projects.
• Collaborate with data scientists to drive projects from ideation to delivery, ensuring end-to-end success.
• Work closely with platforms and data architecture teams to ensure production-ready code.
• Solve code-related issues and contribute to presentations, handbooks, and training materials.
• Showcase your work to diverse forums, conferences, and management, gaining valuable exposure.

What are we looking for from you?

• Strong experience in advanced analytical techniques, optimization, simulation, and operational research.
• Proficiency in Python, with prior software development experience being a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with senior stakeholders.
• Critical thinking abilities and the capability to execute ideas practically

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Operational Research, or Industrial Engineering ( as well as 2 years of working experience preferred but not essential).
• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of working experience, specifically working on optimization and machine learning projects.
• Internship experience is also considered towards meeting the above qualifications
