iOPS/DevOps Engineer (freelance)

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced iOPS/DevOps Engineer to help establish and maintain a cloud environment for both legacy and new assets. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in deployment automation, cloud technology, and infrastructure, as well as hands-on experience with DevOps principles and processes. This role requires a technical leader who is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead deployment activities using automation tools like Jenkins and DigitalAI.
• Automate deployment processes for middleware, databases, and web products using Terraform.
• Implement and manage Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and continuous testing pipelines.
• Support cloud enablement initiatives and streamline the transition to cloud environments.
• Provide technical expertise in infrastructure components such as Kubernetes, Maven, Node.js, Ansible, Containers (Docker), PostgreSQL, Redis, and more.
• Build and maintain automation scripts and deployment orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Manage release orchestration, including application packaging, runbooks, and release pipelines.
• Enable tooling that supports development, testing, quality, and collaboration efforts across the team.
• Ensure platform stability and enhance the continuous integration platform using tools like Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, SVN, and Git.

Requirements:

• At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in production environments, with 1-3 years on IBM Cloud preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cloud environments, Java, and containerization technologies.
• Familiarity with architecture rules and standards.
• Experience with development languages and tools for architecture and technical support.
• Knowledge of project methodologies, standards, and Scrum practices.
• Proficiency in tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Helmchart, and Springboot is a plus.
• Strong command of English (mandatory); knowledge of Dutch or French is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
