Bank Cards, ATM, and Switch IT Business Analyst
Job Overview:
The Bank Cards, ATM, and Switch IT Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing IT solutions related to card payment systems, ATM networks, and transaction switches. This role focuses on ensuring the smooth operation, integration, and optimization of card products, ATM services, and payment transaction switches, enabling secure, efficient, and customer-centric payment solutions. The IT Business Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements, create functional specifications, and ensure the systems meet business needs while adhering to security standards and regulatory requirements.
The Bank Cards, ATM, and Switch IT Business Analyst will play a key role in enhancing the bank’s payment infrastructure, ensuring seamless, secure, and customer-friendly card and ATM services. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of payment systems, a focus on security and compliance, and a commitment to improving customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Work closely with business stakeholders, including merchant services teams, card product managers, compliance teams, and IT development teams to understand business needs and gather detailed requirements for acquiring and issuer payment systems.
- Analyse current acquiring and issuer payment systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or opportunities for new features and improvements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and system use cases for the IT development teams.
- Ensure that the requirements align with business goals, regulatory compliance, and security standards.
Issuer Systems (Card Products):
- Define the technical and business requirements for card issuing systems, including credit, debit, and prepaid cards.
- Collaborate with card product teams to ensure seamless card issuance, activation, and management, while supporting features like EMV chip technology, contactless payments, and digital wallets.
- Work with the IT teams to integrate card systems with core banking, payment processors, card networks (e.g., Jaywan, MasterCard), and fraud detection systems.
- Define and prioritize card-related features, such as fraud detection, multi-currency support, digital wallets, and cardholder self-service options (e.g., PIN management, card activation).
- Manage the card lifecycle process, including card production, issuance, personalization, and card renewal.
ATM & Acquiring Systems:
- Define the business requirements for ATM systems, including ATM cash dispensing, balance inquiries, cardless withdrawals, and other self-service features.
- Work with IT and payment processors to integrate acquiring systems with point-of-sale (POS) terminals, online payment gateways, and other merchant services solutions
- Work with technical teams to ensure ATM software and hardware are integrated seamlessly with the bank’s core banking systems, card payment networks, and security protocols.
- Manage the enhancement of ATM functionality, such as enabling EMV chip card support, contactless payments, and mobile integration (e.g., QR code payments or cardless withdrawals).
- Ensure that the acquiring systems support secure, fast, and reliable payment processing, including authorization, settlement, and chargeback management.
- Collaborate with acquiring teams to offer services such as recurring billing, fraud prevention, and merchant onboarding.
Security and Compliance:
- Work with the compliance and risk management teams to ensure that acquiring and issuer systems adhere to regulatory and security standards, including PCI DSS, AML, KYC, and other regional or international regulations.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement fraud prevention mechanisms and data protection protocols across acquiring and issuer systems, ensuring that cardholder and merchant data is secure.
- Perform regular security assessments and audits of acquiring and issuer systems to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory changes.
- Support the implementation of multi-factor authentication (MFA) and tokenization solutions to enhance the security of cardholder and merchant transactions.
System Integration & Testing:
- Oversee the integration of acquiring and issuer systems with existing bank systems, including core banking platforms, CRM systems, fraud detection tools, and customer service platforms.
- Define and manage system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that acquiring and issuer systems meet business requirements and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot integration issues, including payment gateway connectivity, card issuing, and settlement discrepancies.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure smooth integration with third-party processors, payment networks, and financial institutions.
Customer Experience and User Interface (UI) Design:
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to design customer-facing interfaces for cardholders and merchants, ensuring that payment systems are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with customer needs.
- Work on improving the user experience for online and in-store merchants, such as simplifying the payment process and offering additional value-added services.
- Ensure that cardholder self-service tools, such as mobile apps, account management portals, and transaction tracking systems, are user-friendly and functional.
- Provide feedback and input on user interface and design improvements based on business and customer feedback.
Project Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Manage the project lifecycle for acquiring and issuer system initiatives, from initial business requirements gathering and system design to development, testing, and deployment.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and compliance teams to ensure project success.
- Create and maintain project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners to ensure the timely delivery of card issuing, acquiring, and switch solutions.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and any adjustments to timelines or budgets
