Firewall Engineer

Proclinical is seeking a Firewall Engineer to design, implement, manage, and maintain firewall systems, ensuring the protection of IT infrastructure from unauthorized access and cyber threats. This role focuses on firewall technologies, networking concepts, and security protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement firewall solutions tailored to organizational needs.
• Configure firewall rules, VPNs, and NAT policies.
• Regularly update and optimize access control rules.
• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and respond to security incidents.
• Perform risk analysis of current policies and update them as necessary.
• Conduct regular firmware and patch updates for firewall devices.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity or performance issues related to firewalls.
• Collaborate with IT teams to align firewall policies with network architecture.
• Assist SOC teams during cybersecurity incidents.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Proficiency in firewall technologies, including hardware, software, and cloud based solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, UDP, OSI model, IP addressing, and subnetting.
• Familiarity with security protocols and standards like SSL/TLS, IPSec, and authentication mechanisms.
• Experience with threat analysis, intrusion prevention, and detection systems.
• Ability to create, audit, and optimize access control lists and manage security policies.
• Experience with SIEM tools for monitoring and logging.
• Relevant certifications such as Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA/CCSE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are beneficial.
