Java Software Engineer (Eindhoven, NL)

WPS Parking Solutions develops innovative parking solutions, both in hardware and software. In order to be able to deliver new functionalities to our customers in Europe and North America even faster, we are looking for two enthusiastic Java Software Engineers with a problem-solving ability.

Job content

As a Java Software Engineer, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based applications and solutions. You work closely with other software developers to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.

Your duties include

• Design, develop and test Java applications;
• Maintaining and improving existing software;
• Writing well-documented and efficient code;
• Resolving technical issues and bugs;
• Participate in code reviews to ensure the quality of the codebase;
• Contribute to all phases of the development cycle, from concept to implementation;
• Keeping up with the latest technologies and trends in software development.
  
  

You have

• a higher professional education diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Technology;
• affinity with (embedded) software and industrial products;
• strong knowledge of Java and related technologies (e.g. Spring, Hibernate)
• experience with web services (RESTful and/or SOAP).
• proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle;
• experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  
  

Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes are a plus.

In terms of personal qualities, we are looking for someone with attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Because you will have frequent contact with our colleagues abroad, your English, in addition to Dutch, is fluent in speech and writing.
