Software Engineer (Python focus)

As a Python-Focused Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that enhance Ontinue’s MXDR services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable and efficient tools that leverage the Microsoft Azure security ecosystem, including Sentinel, Defender, and other components of the Microsoft Security stack. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Python developer passionate about cybersecurity and cloud technologies to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based software solutions tailored for MXDR services.
• Collaboration:
• Partner with cybersecurity analysts, architects, and product managers to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Work with DevOps engineers to ensure smooth deployment and operation of solutions in cloud environments.
• Azure Integration:
• Build and optimize integrations with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Leverage Azure services such as Azure Functions, and Service Bus to enhance Ontinue’s security offerings.
• Optimize code for performance and scalability in a cloud-based environment.
• Security Best Practices:
• Follow secure coding practices and contribute to Ontinue’s mission of delivering reliable and secure solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends in cybersecurity and cloud technologies.
• Documentation:
• Write clear and concise documentation for code, APIs, and processes to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  
  
  

Required Skills And Experience

• Technical Expertise:
• Proficiency in Python programming, with a strong understanding of Python libraries and frameworks.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure services, particularly with Azure Functions, Service Bus, CosmosDB, and APIM.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and other integration mechanisms.
• Experience in a microservice environment.
• Cloud and Automation Skills:
• Hands-on experience with Azure Functions, Service Bus, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
• Development Practices:
• Experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Problem-Solving:
• Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Additional Qualifications:
• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including threat detection, response, and mitigation.
• Familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., TypeScript, Bash) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or equivalent are advantageous.
