Who is the Software Engineer? (Manager, Software Engineering and Core Platforms)
This role will play a pivotal role in end-to-end delivering, ownership, management, improvement to the IT solutions on the Asurion’s APAC platforms such as Horizon Online, Horizon Agent, Horizon Service, Horizon API, Horizon Integration, Horizon Retail, Horizon Trade-In to provide technology solutions for Contact centre agents, SCM operations, and also to end customers/subscribers who have signed up for Asurion products such as Device Protection, Tech Support, Device Repair, Device Trade-In, Device Upgrade, Open Market, Direct to Consumer, Home Plus. In order to set you up for success in this role, proven experience with Vendors and systems certification are key to set you up for success.
You are a great fit for us if you like the idea of:
- Business Requirements and System Program Needs: Research, analyse and evaluate solutions for the business needs for typical CRM, SCM, Web applications. identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods.
- Identifying Limitations and Business Gap Assessment: Proactively manage the technology limitations and deficiencies to improve processes, procedures and technical debt in the CRM and web applications.
- Drive Standardisation including management of code: Understand the new requirements of existing or new clients, perform the assessment against the standard existing features of the platforms/product, delivery new features or enhance the existing features of the platform to fulfill the client requirements.
- CX First Approach providing advice on developing proposals: This position is accountable to deliver the most efficient CX solutions on APAC platforms by leveraging the latest and best CX, UX, AI, and Cloud technologies by coordinating with the Asurion enterprise architecture and Cloud governance teams.
- Testing, Bugging and Quality Assurance: Define testing approaches, perform tests and support user testing phase, to ensure system deliverables are of high quality. Document and address any issues identified during testing phases with software fixes.
- Software design and Delivery: Maintaining program code to meet system requirement, management of system designs and technical specifications in accordance with accredited standards.
- Writing user training and technical documentation: Perform user training with adequate, end user documentation and operational procedures for product releases and continuous enhancements.

Your experience and personal attributes that are essential requirements:
- Tertiary qualified with a Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Development (or alike)
- At least 5 years’ experience in software engineer development experience in maintaining CRM for device protection and upgrade programs
- Proven track record with using the following Software: Contentful, Iterable, Cloud hosting (i.e. AWS), DAX365
- Proven track record in the maintenance of device trade in and 2nd life devices (such as smartphones, laptops, wearables) product suite for pricing and trade in administration in a live systems environment
- Prior work Experience working with Telecom providers (such as Telstra and Vodafone or alike), device manufacturers (such as Apple and Samsung or alike) and major retailers (such as Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi or alike)
