Full Stack Engineer

Millipede is on a mission to build a dynamic platform that connects all stages of Real Estate Development. Collectively, our co-founders have spent decades in Real Estate, Wealth Management, and Software Development. They are passionate about utilizing technology and innovation to increase productivity, without the traditional costs of adoption. Millipede is working to create a connected platform that will be powered by an exclusive data set, automate the management of all stakeholders, and in return empowers firms to operate at higher efficiencies that naturally result in better construction.

About the role

We are seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer with expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to help us build and maintain the core services powering our platform. You will work closely with the product and engineering teams to design scalable solutions that meet the needs of our users, while implementing best practices in backend development and cloud infrastructure as well as the frontend.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from designing technical solutions to deployment and maintenance.
• Develop robust and scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, while building and optimising front-end applications with React.js for seamless user experiences.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including API Gateway, Cloud Functions, Firestore, and BigQuery, to handle large-scale data processing and real-time analytics.
• Design and optimise cloud-based architectures for performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and implement solutions.
• Ensure the integrity and security of backend services with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Be a steward for good engineering practice at Millipede

Required Skills

• 2-4 years of experience in full-stack development, with a focus on TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.js on the backend, and React.js on the frontend.
• Solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud Functions, Firestore, and BigQuery.
• Understanding of data modelling and optimization in BigQuery for analytics at scale.
• Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and cloud-based architectures.
• Detail oriented, organised and diligent with ability to prioritise and execute on multiple tasks
• Experience with FireCRM for managing user data and engagement is a plus.
• Experience with React Native would be a plus.
• Great communication skills and a strong team player
• Comfortable with explaining technical concepts to a range of audiences
• Problem solving mindset with an ability to resolve open ended problems
• Familiarity with Agile practices
• B.S or B.A in any relevant field
