Privacy & Security Marketing Intern

Location: Oslo, Norway (will not consider relocation or remote locations)

We are looking for a Privacy & Security Marketing intern! Are you an effective communicator and content creator? Are you passionate about privacy, data protection, and online security? Then you could be the latest addition to Opera’s growing global Marketing team.

As a Privacy & Security Marketing intern, you will be working directly with the Product Marketing Manager for Privacy & Security to develop content, plan and implement communication strategies, and glean insights from analytics and press coverage. You will collaborate and interact with teams across the organization, familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of a modern B2C technology company, and play a key part in showcasing our efforts in preserving user privacy and security across our products. You will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of this rapidly evolving space, keeping up with the latest regulations, product innovations, and conversations in privacy and security.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Content development: Crafting a wide range of materials, including blog posts, articles, Q&As, etc.
• Data analytics: Analyzing new and existing content, producing insights to inform strategy and subsequent actions, presenting insights in an effective manner.
• Media and trend monitoring: Keeping up with a variety of online sources to identify communication opportunities and topics of importance.
• Social media management: Monitoring and maintaining our privacy & security social media accounts.
• Cross-functional communication: Participating in meetings with various teams and offering support as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Interest in and passion for content creation
• Interest in and knowledge of data protection and privacy issues
• Interest in and knowledge of computer science, internet technologies and/or emerging technologies
• Knowledge of content management platforms such as Wordpress
• Ability to take initiative and offer ideas
• Ability to effectively manage your time and work under pressure
• Knowledge of analytics platforms like Google Analytics will be a plus
• Previous experience in media will be a plus

You are a strong writer, able to create written content in a variety of formats with minimal supervision. You are knowledgeable about digital privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity topics, and you understand how these impact the consumer tech market.
