Do you enjoy building the platform that enables developers to ship software faster? And would you like to work on a modern internal developer platform where automation, Kubernetes and developer experience take centre stage?
This product-driven software company develops high-traffic digital platforms that are used by millions of users every month. With multiple product teams working on business-critical applications, the Platform Engineering team is responsible for providing the tooling, infrastructure and automation that allow developers to build and deploy software efficiently. The engineering culture is pragmatic, collaborative and highly technical. Teams are small, ownership is encouraged and engineers are given the freedom to improve the platform and introduce better ways of working.
As a Platform Engineer, you'll join a small DevOps team responsible for building and improving the internal developer platform used by multiple product teams. Rather than supporting production incidents all day, you'll focus on creating reusable platform capabilities, improving developer experience and further automating infrastructure and deployment processes. You'll work on Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and self-service tooling that enables development teams to deploy independently while maintaining security, reliability and consistency.
What you'll be doing:
• Build and improve the internal developer platform
• Develop reusable self-service tooling for engineering teams
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Maintain and optimise Kubernetes environments
• Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
• Improve monitoring, logging and operational visibility
• Contribute to platform reliability, security and cloud optimisation
• Collaborate closely with software engineers to improve developer productivity
Why this role is interesting:
• Build an Internal Developer Platform rather than simply maintaining infrastructure
• Work with modern Platform Engineering principles
• Direct influence on developer experience across multiple product teams
• Strong focus on automation and self-service
• Plenty of room to introduce new ideas and technologies
• Small engineering teams with lots of ownership
Terms of employment:
• Salary up to approximately €60.000 annually
• 32-40 hour working week
• Hybrid working
• Pension scheme
• Daily fresh lunch
• Modern office in central Rotterdam
• Personal development opportunities
• Informal engineering culture with plenty of autonomy
