DevOps Engineer

The Role

As a DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the cloud foundation that powers HEKA, our retail intelligence platform used by leading luxury and large-scale distribution brands. Your role goes beyond "keeping the lights on," you will shape our infrastructure roadmap, automate our deployment pipelines, and ensure our platform scales reliably as we grow our client base.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer with strong AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise, capable of balancing rapid delivery needs with long-term architectural soundness in a lean, fast-moving team.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Architecture: Read and understand our existing AWS environment (via CLI and console), and design, implement, and evolve our cloud infrastructure in line with the Hekanize roadmap.
• Infrastructure as Code: Build, modify, and troubleshoot Terraform templates to provision and manage infrastructure in a repeatable, version-controlled way.
• CI/CD & Automation: Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) to streamline building, testing, and deploying our Java/Spring Boot, Vue.js, and Flutter applications.
• DevOps Best Practices: Champion automation, scalability, and reliability across the stack; implement monitoring and logging (e.g. CloudWatch) to ensure system health and proactive issue detection.
• Reliability & Support: Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across production environments serving multiple luxury retail clients, minimizing downtime and resolution time.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Backend Lead, Infrastructure lead, and offshore development suppliers to align infrastructure decisions with application needs.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Experience: 3-5 years in a DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability role within a B2B/SaaS environment.
• AWS Expertise: Solid hands-on experience navigating and managing AWS environments via CLI, with the ability to interpret and evolve existing infrastructure.
• Terraform / IaC: Demonstrated experience writing and maintaining Terraform modules for cloud provisioning and infrastructure automation.
• CI/CD Tools: Practical expertise with GitHub Actions (or similar tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins) for build, test, and deployment automation.
• DevOps Mindset: Strong grasp of automation, scalability, and reliability principles, with experience in monitoring/logging tooling (CloudWatch or equivalent).
• Communication: Ability to explain infrastructure decisions and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Education: Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Languages: Professional working proficiency in English.

Good to Have

• PHP / Laravel and/or C# experience
• Docker / Kubernetes experience
• Prior experience in a B2B SaaS environment
