Senior Data Analyst

About the Role

A leading insurance company is looking for a Senior IT Data Analyst to join its Data Management team during a major transformation of its Data Platform.

You will play a key role in the modernization of the company's Life Insurance Data Warehouse and the gradual implementation of a Data Mesh architecture. Working at the intersection of business and IT, you will help transform business requirements into scalable, high-quality data solutions that support reporting, analytics and strategic decision-making.

This is a hybrid role combining Business Analysis, Data Modelling and Data Governance, where you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers and data teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Analysis

• Organize and facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements
• Analyze requests for new datasets, reports and analytical needs
• Define business rules, data quality requirements, security constraints and source-to-target mappings
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical data solutions

Data Architecture & Modelling

• Design conceptual and logical data models following enterprise standards
• Design data ingestion, transformation, storage and consumption processes
• Ensure consistency and reusability of data models across multiple projects
• Support the evolution of the company's Data Warehouse and Data Mesh architecture

Data Governance

• Contribute to Data Governance and Data Management initiatives
• Ensure data quality, consistency and compliance with company standards
• Collaborate with technical teams to align solutions with the overall Data Platform architecture

Collaboration

• Act as the bridge between business users and development teams
• Explain functional requirements to technical teams and support implementation throughout the development lifecycle

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Business and Functional Analysis
• Strong experience in Data Modelling (conceptual and logical)
• Experience with Data Governance and DMBOK principles
• Good understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC)
• Experience working in Agile environments

Technical Skills

Must have:

• SQL and data analysis
• Microsoft Azure Data Platform (architecture and hands-on experience)
• Databricks
• Informatica (or similar ETL tool)
• Microsoft BI technologies
• Data modelling
• Data management and governance

Nice to have:

• Enterprise Modelling / Enterprise Architecture
• Erwin or similar data modelling tools
• Knowledge of Life Insurance processes
• Business Process Analysis
