Job Purpose -
The Network Technical Services leads the strategy, architecture, governance, security, lifecycle, and operational performance of Biocon's global network infrastructure. The role ensures secure, resilient, scalable, and high-performing connectivity across corporate offices, data centres, cloud environments, manufacturing facilities, and remote locations.
The position has end-to-end accountability for enterprise networking services including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, Internet, cloud networking, firewalls, DMZ, routing, switching, NAC, VPN, remote access, monitoring, and network security, including the secure integration of Operational Technology (OT) environments with enterprise IT.
The role serves as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and network delivery teams, aligning service performance, modernization priorities, technology investments, and cybersecurity requirements with business objectives.
Key Accountabilities -
- Define and execute the enterprise network strategy, roadmap, standards, and governance framework to support business growth, resilience, digital transformation, and cloud adoption initiatives.
- Lead the design, modernization, and lifecycle management of global network services across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, data centre, cloud, remote access, firewalls, DMZ, routing, switching, NAC, and network monitoring platforms.
- Develop and govern cloud networking architectures, ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient connectivity across multi-cloud and hybrid environments, including integration between cloud platforms, data centres, and enterprise locations.
- Ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing network operations through strong service management, performance oversight, incident leadership, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to strengthen network segmentation, access control, secure remote access, compliance, audit readiness, vulnerability remediation, and Zero Trust alignment across both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Provide strategic oversight of OT network environments, ensuring secure integration between IT and OT while supporting manufacturing and operational requirements.
- Act as the primary business interface for network services, translating business needs into technical solutions and communicating service performance, risks, and investment priorities to leadership.
- Lead vendor, contract, budget, forecasting, and cost optimization activities, while driving technology refresh, modernization, lifecycle planning, and cloud connectivity strategies.
- Build and lead high-performing global teams through strong people leadership, talent development, collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Required Experience and Qualifications -
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise networking and infrastructure services, including 5+ years in leadership roles managing global network engineering and operations teams.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-site, global network environments and modernization programs.
- Strong expertise in enterprise networking, cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, network security, monitoring, ITIL-based service management, vendor management, and financial planning.
- Experience designing and managing connectivity across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud network security and hybrid network architectures.
Preferred Experience -
- Experience supporting manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments, including an understanding of industrial network architectures and OT cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with network automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and software-defined networking technologies.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, ITIL, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent.
