About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk Officer to join a fast-growing cryptocurrency firm in Dubai. The role will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s risk management framework across market, credit, liquidity, operational, and regulatory risks, in line with UAE and international regulatory standards.

This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the firm’s financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving digital assets environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide risk management framework for crypto and digital asset activities
• Identify, assess, monitor, and report on market, credit, liquidity, operational, counterparty, and technology risks
• Oversee risk related to trading activities, custody, wallets, smart contracts, and third-party service providers
• Develop and enforce risk policies, limits, controls, and escalation procedures
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulatory requirements (including VARA, DFSA, and applicable AML/CFT standards)
• Conduct regular risk assessments, stress testing, and scenario analysis
• Prepare risk reports for senior management and the Board
• Work closely with Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Trading teams to embed risk awareness across the organization
• Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices affecting crypto and digital assets
• Support regulatory audits, inspections, and internal reviews

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• 5–10+ years of experience in risk management, preferably within crypto, fintech, financial services, or trading environments
• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency markets, digital assets, blockchain technology, and DeFi risks
• Experience with UAE or international financial regulations (VARA, DFSA, FCA, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, and financial crime risk in crypto environments
• Proven ability to design and implement risk frameworks in fast-paced or regulated environments
