Software Development Lead – Digital Applications

Synopsis

We are seeking a Software Development Lead to lead engineering squads responsible for delivering and enhancing Etihad Airways' web and mobile applications. The role combines technical leadership, people management, and delivery oversight to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing digital solutions.

Accountabilities

• Lead and mentor software development squads across web and mobile platforms.
• Own technical delivery, ensuring alignment with business and product priorities.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, UX, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver customer-facing digital solutions.
• Drive Agile delivery, managing risks, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
• Provide technical guidance across architecture, cloud, APIs, and mobile technologies.
• Establish engineering best practices covering coding, testing, CI/CD, security, and platform reliability.
• Champion automation, DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.
• Manage team performance, capability development, and workforce planning.
• Monitor engineering KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years leading development teams.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale web and mobile applications.
• Strong expertise in modern software architecture, microservices, cloud platforms, and DevOps.
• Experience with:
  • Web: React, Angular, IONIC framework, Node.js
  • Backend: Java, Spring Boot, APIs, Microservices
  • Mobile: Android (Kotlin) and/or iOS (Swift) and Capacitor
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
