The Mission
As a Simulation & Test Automation Engineer (M/W/D), you will turn our PX4- and Unreal Engine-based VTOL simulator into an automated testing and training platform. You will replace manual, operator-driven simulation tests with repeatable automated workflows that validate multi-copter, fixed-wing, and transition-flight behaviour before it reaches real aircraft.

The Mission
As a Simulation & Test Automation Engineer (M/W/D), you will turn our PX4- and Unreal Engine-based VTOL simulator into an automated testing and training platform. You will replace manual, operator-driven simulation tests with repeatable automated workflows that validate multi-copter, fixed-wing, and transition-flight behaviour before it reaches real aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain an automated simulation test platform for our VTOL drone system.
- Develop tools to execute tests, analyze telemetry and flight logs, and evaluate pass/fail criteria.
- Integrate simulation tests into development and release workflows, including CI/CD where applicable.
- Collaborate with flight software, GNC, operations, and testing teams to turn real-world needs into automated test scenarios.
- Experience with software testing, test automation, simulation, robotics, drones, or autonomous systems.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Familiarity with Linux development environments.
- Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, or similar automation infrastructure.
- Ability to work across multiple software components and communicate clearly with engineers and operators.
- Experience with PX4, MAVLink, QGroundControl, or similar drone/autopilot ecosystems.
- Experience with Software-in-the-Loop, Hardware-in-the-Loop, or Model-in-the-Loop testing.
- Experience with Unreal Engine, Gazebo, or other robotics / vehicle simulation environments.
