About the Position
We are looking for a DevOps Manager to lead and coordinate multiple engineering teams within one of our key clients, acting as the technical point of contact between the DevOps organization and cross-functional stakeholders (leadership, PMs, design, and engineering). This is a coordination and delegation-focused role — not a hands-on individual contributor position.
Responsibilities
- Cross-Team Coordination: Lead, coordinate, and align multiple internal engineering teams and projects (DevOps/Core, infrastructure, and related scrums) to ensure cohesive, standardized delivery across the client's organization.
- Infrastructure Oversight: Act as the primary technical reference for the client's Azure infrastructure. Understand infrastructure diagrams and how components connect, without necessarily executing hands-on implementation.
- Status Reporting & Escalation: Own and communicate project health using clear RAG (Red/Yellow/Green) status reporting to leadership, flagging delays or risks proactively.
- Delegation & Team Leadership: Diagnose delivery blockers quickly and delegate execution to the appropriate DevOps engineers or specialists, rather than performing individual contributor work.
- Two-Way Communication: Serve as the voice between client leadership (top-down) and the DevOps team (bottom-up), ensuring priorities, standards, and expectations are clearly cascaded and aligned across teams.
- Process Standardization: Help unify and standardize ways of working across the DevOps team, promoting a more cohesive and consistent operation.
- Security & Compliance Alignment: Monitor and enforce adherence to enterprise security guidelines, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards across all development and infrastructure environments.
Required Skills
- Management Experience: Proven track record as a Delivery Manager, DevOps Manager, Stack Manager, or Engineering Manager, ideally coordinating multiple projects/teams simultaneously (not limited to a single project).
- Azure Expertise (Excluyente): Strong, hands-on knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure and Azure Portal, with the ability to navigate and understand how infrastructure components are connected.
- Infrastructure as Code (Excluyente): Hands-on experience with Terraform or OpenTofu for infrastructure provisioning.
- Kubernetes / AKS (Excluyente): Solid experience with Kubernetes (AKS).
- Scripting (Deseable): Experience with PowerShell and/or Bash for cloud automation.
- Version Control (Deseable): Familiarity with GitHub.
- Other Cloud Platforms (Plus): Exposure to GCP, Oracle Cloud, or other providers is a plus, though not required.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to lead, coordinate, and communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including client-side leadership and multiple internal engineering teams.
- Delegation Mindset: Demonstrated ability to step back from individual contribution and focus on unblocking teams, setting expectations, and leveraging the right technical specialists for each issue.
- Enterprise Compliance & Security: Solid understanding of enterprise-level compliance protocols, security standards, and regulatory environments.
