If you’re after impact, there’s no other organisation in Australia that delivers work on this scale.
Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.
In this role, you'll:
Working as part of a team delivering statistical analysis, predictive modelling, algorithm development, feature generation, anomaly detection processes, and actionable insights that enhance how the Transport network is developed and managed, improving customer experience and operational outcomes.
This role will see you conduct statistical analysis and develop predictive algorithms; apply data science techniques using cloud technologies and analytical tools; identify and integrate new data sources; prepare production‑ready features for reporting, modelling and analytics applications; design processes for anomaly detection and data mining; develop data assets that support customer and industry engagement; and communicate insights that strengthen understanding of network performance, with development opportunities across advanced modelling, cloud‑based analytics, large‑scale data mining, customer behaviour analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration.
You will build new ways of enhancing insight‑generation, segmentation, and decision‑making in a complex technical environment with legacy systems, diverse data sources, rapidly evolving cloud and analytical platforms, and competing stakeholder priorities across a matrixed organisation.

About You
Your sound understanding of machine learning and AI, advanced SQL capability, experience with Tableau or AWS QuickSight, exposure to Big Data and NoSQL platforms, strong applied statistics skills, and experience with Python, R and algorithm development formed across data science, analytics, engineering and cross‑team delivery environments will see you excel in managing complex datasets, overcoming challenges related to legacy systems and evolving technology, and bringing rigorous analytical techniques to lead to accurate insights, improved models, and enhanced customer and network outcomes.
You’re recognized as an adept communicator, skilled at explaining complex concepts, gathering stakeholder requirements, and resolving issues, experienced in model validation, data integration, collaborative planning, and building algorithms and applications using advanced scripting and object‑oriented programming.
