DevOps Engineer

Profectus is inviting expressions of interest from DevOps Engineers for likely upcoming engagements within the Australian Government. These opportunities suit DevOps engineers across a range of experience levels who can build, test and deploy software through automation and continuous integration, resolve build and environment issues, and support reliable delivery within a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce software builds from source code, monitoring build jobs and addressing build failures
• Define software modules and build definitions, updating configurations to address build issues and minor changes
• Configure and maintain build and test environments, resolving routine environment and configuration issues
• Conduct integration testing to specification, record and report results, and rerun tests after fixes
• Investigate and resolve common integration and compatibility issues, diagnosing faults and performing initial root cause analysis
• Support automation and continuous integration, and contribute to ongoing improvements
• Identify and report issues and risks, escalating problems that cannot be resolved using existing guidance

Required Experience

• Hands-on experience with software builds, integration and continuous integration or automation
• Experience configuring build and test environments and resolving build or environment issues
• Familiarity with CI/CD, version control and build and deployment tooling
• A collaborative approach with strong problem-solving skills

Desirable Experience

• Experience with pipeline and automation tooling such as Azure DevOps and Artifactory
• Cloud experience (AWS or Azure) and infrastructure as code
• Relevant tertiary qualification or DevOps or cloud certifications

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must hold a Baseline security clearance (minimum)

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid; predominantly onsite with periodic work from home where appropriate
• Canberra preferred
• Candidates based in VIC, NSW, SA or QLD may also be considered
