What does a Senior iOS Engineer do at Frollo?
As a Senior iOS Engineer at Frollo you will lead the design, development and delivery of high-quality iOS applications that form part of our core SaaS and Open Banking platforms. You will work within a cross-functional team, mentor mid and junior engineers, influence technical direction and drive best practices for maintainable, performant and secure mobile software. This role suits someone with strong native iOS experience, excellent engineering judgement and a collaborative mindset. This role is a 14-month fixed term contract.

What does a Senior iOS Engineer do at Frollo?
As a Senior iOS Engineer at Frollo you will lead the design, development and delivery of high-quality iOS applications that form part of our core SaaS and Open Banking platforms. You will work within a cross-functional team, mentor mid and junior engineers, influence technical direction and drive best practices for maintainable, performant and secure mobile software. This role suits someone with strong native iOS experience, excellent engineering judgement and a collaborative mindset. This role is a 14-month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect & Develop: Design and implement scalable, testable and maintainable iOS features using Swift and modern Apple frameworks, ensuring alignment with platform and product goals.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the mobile engineering team, lead design discussions, and promote engineering standards and code quality through reviews and pair programming.
- Quality & Testing: Own and improve unit, integration and UI test coverage, contribute to automated pipelines and ensure releases meet performance, accessibility and security requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, backend engineering and QA to define requirements, estimate work, and deliver features iteratively with a strong focus on user value.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices for CI/CD, observability, crash reporting and release management for mobile apps; evaluate and introduce appropriate tools and libraries.
- Customer Focus: Help translate customer needs into product solutions, participate in customer-facing conversations when required and ensure the mobile experience meets customer expectations.
- At least 5 years of hands-on iOS development experience using Swift and UIKit.
- Strong understanding of iOS architectural patterns and best practices.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable mobile solutions.
- Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience conducting code reviews and maintaining high engineering standards.
- Experience working in a CI/CD environment with a strong focus on automated testing.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience working closely with Product and Engineering stakeholders to deliver customer-facing features.
- Experience in fintech or regulated industries with an understanding of security, privacy and compliance considerations for mobile applications.
- Familiarity with cross-platform considerations and collaboration with Android teams to ensure feature parity and consistent user experience.
- Knowledge of modern design systems and accessibility best practices on iOS.
- Experience integrating with Open Banking APIs or other financial services platforms.
