AutoCAD Shop Drawing Draftsman

Role Purpose

The AutoCAD Shop Drawing Draftsman at EJAZ® CREATIVE STUDIO is responsible for developing creative, functional, and technically design solutions for commercial interior spaces. This role supports the design team in concept development, space planning, material selection, and the preparation of detailed and Shop drawings in alignment with EJAZ’s standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in developing Conceptual Drawings based on project briefs.
2. Prepare accurate and comprehensive 2D technical and shop drawings, including floor plans, ceiling layouts, elevations, custom furniture, and sections.
3. Ensure all drawings are compliant with EJAZ standards, local regulations, and site requirements.
4. Update and manage drawing revisions.

1. Coordinate with the site engineer and project manager to resolve any drawing-related issues during execution.
2. Provide drawing clarifications and redline updates based on site conditions or client feedback.

1. Maintain proper documentation of all issued drawings and revisions as per SOP.
2. Communicate with procurement and 3D visualizers to ensure materials and visualizations match technical drawings.
3. Participate in client or contractor meetings as required for technical discussions.

1. Stay ahead of design trends and integrate innovations.
2. Promote a culture of creativity, learning, and feedback within the design team.
3. Identify opportunities to improve design workflows and software adoptions.
4. Initiate design research and trend forecasting relevant to Interior design. 

Core Competencies

• High proficiency in AutoCAD (2D), with strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
• Strong understanding of joinery, finishing materials, and construction methods.
• Attention to detail and precision in all technical outputs.
• Organized, systematic, and able to handle multiple drawing packages concurrently.
• Good collaboration and communication skills with design and site teams.

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
• Minimum 2 year of experience in commercial interior design.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in corporate, retail, or hospitality design.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
