Finance Operations Manager (Fully Remote in Europe)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a globally recognized organization operating at the forefront of digital finance and blockchain innovation. With a complex international ecosystem, and significant treasury activities, they are seeking an experienced Finance Operations Manager to strengthen and scale their finance function.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a critical role in managing financial operations, accounting, treasury processes, budgeting, reporting, and financial controls. This position offers a unique opportunity to help build and optimize finance processes within one of the world's most innovative technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

- Record and reconcile daily financial on- and off-chain transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.

- Collect, organize, and maintain a systematic invoice management process across service providers.

- Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and/or US-GAAP

- Maintain and develop ERP systems or financial subsystems

- Maintain up-to-date and accurate payment status tracking, providing stakeholders with reliable visibility into outstanding and settled obligations.

Budgeting and forecasting

- Prepare monthly variance analyses with clear commentary and actionable recommendations for the CFO and relevant stakeholders.

- Assist CFO with financial planning, strategic initiatives and scenario analyses

Operational Resilience

- Oversee all payment processes, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements to vendors and partners

- Establish and maintain banking relationships and set up fiat rails to facilitate smooth transactions

- Collaborate with development teams to identify financial operational challenges and devise solutions

- Streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks.

Controlling and Monitoring

- Develop and implement financial policies to monitor expenditures and prevent overspending

- Work closely with operations teams to align financial practices with operational needs

- Implement/strengthen Financial Control process, improving forecasting accuracy, expense monitoring

- Develop key performance indicators to track financial health and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

Finance Expertise

- Demonstrable experience in accounting or finance operations, ideally gained at an accounting or tax firm.

- CFA designation (or equivalent advanced accounting qualification).

- Proficiency in IFRS accounting standards; familiarity with US GAAP is also valued.

Ownership

- Proven ability to manage financial functions independently without team support

- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently

- Experience collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders

- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles

Adaptability and Resilience

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly

- Demonstrated success in a remote work environment, showing discipline and accountability

Domain-Specific Knowledge

- Extensive experience in finance operations, ideally within the fintech, startup, blockchain or DeFi sectors

- Deep understanding of blockchains, Ethereum, DeFi, and staking mechanisms

- Hands-on experience with Gnosis Safe or equivalent multi-sig signing tools.

- Expertise in international tax laws and compliance across multiple jurisdictions is a plus

- Knowledge of on-chain treasury management practices, including yield strategies and token diversification is a plus.
