Our client is a newly established business unit within an international group, operating in the transport and logistics sector. As part of an ambitious growth project in Portugal, this business is building its local structure from the ground up and offers the opportunity to join at a key stage of its development.


Your New Role

As HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in launching and developing the Human Resources function in Portugal. Reporting locally to the Country Manager and functionally to an international HR leader, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting the full employee life cycle while helping shape the people strategy of the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the growth and structuring of the Portuguese operation;
  • Acting as HR Business Partner to managers and leadership team;
  • Managing recruitment processes and onboarding activities;
  • Coordinating training plans and development initiatives;
  • Monitoring HR KPIs and preparing management reports;
  • Supporting performance management and talent reviews;
  • Managing HR administration and coordinating payroll with external providers;
  • Ensuring compliance with labour legislation and collective bargaining agreements;
  • Supporting change management and organisational development initiatives;
  • Acting as the main liaison between local operations and international HR stakeholders;
  • Supporting employee relations matters, insurance management and related administrative processes;
  • Participating in the transition and integration of employees into the new business structure.


What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Management or a similar field;
  • Around 3 to 8 years of experience in a generalist HR role;
  • Strong exposure to payroll, recruitment, employee relations and HR operations;
  • Experience working with HR metrics and reporting;
  • Good knowledge of Portuguese labour law;
  • Advanced level of English;
  • Spanish skills will be highly valued;
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • A pragmatic, proactive and hands-on approach;
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Previous experience in transport, logistics, supply chain, retail or industrial environments will be considered a strong advantage.
