Java Backend Engineer - Agentic AI & Cloud Platforms*

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our engineering team in Dublin. This role combines modern backend development with practical AI innovation, offering the opportunity to work on cloud-native applications, secure APIs, intelligent document processing, and AI-powered automation.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices
• Build and secure API integrations using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and Keycloak
• Develop AI-powered workflows and agentic solutions that interact with APIs, process documents, and support business automation
• Work with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and related Azure services
• Contribute to document intelligence solutions using OCR and AI-based document processing tools
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and Business teams
• Continuously improve system performance, quality, security, and maintainability
  
  

Your Profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java backend development
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservice architectures
• Experience with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and Identity & Access Management solutions such as Keycloak
• Hands-on experience with Azure, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven, or Gradle
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Interest in or experience with AI agents, LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, document intelligence, or automation workflows
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience in banking, fintech, insurance, or other regulated industries
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, monitoring, observability, and API gateways
• Experience with Azure AI Document Intelligence, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, AutoGen, or similar frameworks
• Understanding of secure, compliant, and production-ready AI solutions
