Scrum Master


We're seeking two experienced IT Scrum Masters to join a growing IT delivery function, helping lead the implementation and ongoing governance of agile delivery practices across project delivery teams and enable the effective adoption of Scrum and agile ways of working across the IT delivery portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in uplifting agile maturity, delivery predictability, and stakeholder confidence across a complex, multi-stakeholder institutional environment.




WHAT’S ON OFFER


Initial 6-month contract

• $1000 per day inclusive of super

• Hybrid working – Perth based

• work on the Essential 8 and SOC/SIEM project



THE ROLE:


Working closely with project teams and stakeholders across the institution, you'll lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the agile delivery framework for your respective project, ensuring alignment and adoption of agile delivery standards across IT Delivery Services.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Facilitate Scrum events including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives to ensure effective project delivery
  • Coach and mentor team members, Project Managers and stakeholders in Scrum principles, agile practices and continuous improvement
  • Identify, manage and remove delivery impediments and dependencies to enable the team to maintain sustainable delivery velocity
  • Support Project Managers with backlog refinement, prioritisation and value-based planning aligned to institutional governance requirements across IT Delivery Services and relevant client areas
  • Promote collaboration and effective communication within the team and with internal and external stakeholders
  • Own the delivery and continuous improvement of the agile delivery framework for your assigned project, with responsibility for ensuring alignment and adoption of agile delivery standards across IT Delivery Services and their interfaces with broader institutional operations
  • Monitor and report on delivery performance, risks and issues using agreed agile metrics and artefacts
  • Embed quality, security and compliance considerations into agile delivery practices in line with institutional policies
  • Develop, recommend and oversee the implementation of agile delivery standards, frameworks and guidance for IT Delivery Services, and provide informed recommendations on governance frameworks, risk, security and compliance requirements, and their integration into agile delivery practices
  • Lead and supervise management and stakeholder engagement activities to ensure successful adoption of delivered outcomes

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:


  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Project Management and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience demonstrating advanced professional capability at an institutional level
  • Substantial experience as a Scrum Master or agile delivery practitioner within complex IT environments
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Scrum teams and applying agile frameworks at scale
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to manage priorities, dependencies and competing demands
  • Experience using agile delivery tools and metrics to support planning, reporting and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem-solve and contribute productively as part of a high-performing team
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement and customer-focused delivery
  • Desirable: Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM or equivalent)
  • Desirable: Experience working in large, complex or public sector organisations
  • Desirable: Experience with Essential 8/SOC-SIEM security uplift projects, or Rostering and Scheduling/APAY system implementations, relevant to the assigned stream
