Our challenge
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst with Capital Markets experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, developers, and QA teams to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for capital markets applications and processes. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of financial products, trading workflows, and post-trade operations.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Plano, TX is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Work with front office, middle office, operations, compliance, and technology teams to understand business needs.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.
• Support system enhancements, regulatory initiatives, and transformation projects within capital markets.
• Analyze trade lifecycle processes including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement review sessions.
• Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and data analysis for system/process changes.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams during solution design, testing, and implementation.
• Assist in UAT planning, test case review, defect triage, and production support.
• Ensure solutions align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets.
• Strong understanding of capital markets products such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, and commodities.
• Good knowledge of trade lifecycle, order management, portfolio management, risk, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience in requirement gathering, BRD/FRD creation, user stories, use cases, and process mapping.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working with SQL, Excel, and data analysis tools.
• Ability to liaise effectively between business users and technical teams.
