Cyber Security Specialist (1575)

Location: Warsaw, Poland (50% on-site / 50% remote)

Level: EQF 6 (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent)

Language: Minimum B2 English (spoken and written)

About the Role

Frontex is looking for an experienced Information Security Specialist to strengthen their cybersecurity operations. You will play a key role in protecting critical systems, implementing robust security controls, and ensuring compliance with international standards in a dynamic, high-impact environment.

This is a hands-on technical position requiring strong operational experience, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of professional IT experience
• Minimum 5 years in a similar Information Security Administrator / Specialist role

Certifications: You must hold at least 3 of the following certifications (or internationally recognised equivalents accepted by Frontex):

• GCED (GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender)
• GPPA (GIAC Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst)
• GCWN (GIAC Certified Windows Security Administrator)
• GCUX (GIAC Certified UNIX Security Administrator)
• GCCC (GIAC Certified Critical Controls)
• SSCP ((ISC)² Systems Security Practitioner)
• CCSP ((ISC)² Certified Cloud Security Professional)
• CISSP ((ISC)² Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CSSLP ((ISC)² Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• GSEC (GIAC Certified Security Essentials)
• ECSA (EC-Council Certified Security Analyst)
• SCPO (SABSA Certified Security Operations & Service Management Practitioner)

Knowledge & Expertise

• Deep knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC) and secure coding practices
• Strong understanding of operating systems security, computer networks security, and security controls
• Offensive and defensive security practices, including vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and risk analysis
• ISO 27000 family standards and SANS CIS Critical Security Controls
• OWASP standards and best practices
• Network protocols: SMTP, NTP, DNS, LDAP, DHCP, PKI/CA
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions
• Practical experience designing and executing security tests

Must-Have Hands-On Experience

• PKI operations
• Operations and maintenance of Security Monitoring platforms (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Darktrace)
• Risk-based vulnerability management using Tenable (including coordination of penetration testing activities)
• Deploying and managing Privileged Access Management (PAM) platforms
• Application security testing with Checkmarx (SAST + DAST)
• Implementation of security controls aligned with Zero Trust Architecture

Skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – ability to document, report, and present clearly
• Ability to integrate cybersecurity solutions into existing infrastructure and configure them according to organizational security policies
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and rapid learning capability
• Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in cybersecurity incidents and issues
• Ability to develop and test secure code/scripts
