Senior Backend Developer

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain backend systems using JavaScript (TypeScript) and Python.
• Design and implement APIs and services to support front-end functionalities.
• Write clean, efficient, and modular code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Optimize performance and ensure scalability.
• Collaborate in the database design and management of those systems (PostgreSQL).
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in the field of development.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong proficiency in Typescript (JavaScript) / Python programming language.
• Experience with Node.js and its ecosystem.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and its implementation (Apollo, Relay, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills and proficient in english

OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS

• Dev-Ops experience
• Experience in Azure
• Experience with Grafana
• Managing and optimizing database systems (PostgreSQL or MongoDB).
• Worked with Sentry or other Monitoring / Error-Tracking software
• Familiarity with Next.js

OTHER DETAILS

• Full-time employee (40 hours/week).
• Reports to Head of Application Development.
• Located preferably in Amsterdam (Netherlands), but flexible within the EU.
• Compensation depending on qualifications and experience.
