Position Summary

We’re looking for a frontend engineer to help build and grow the client-facing product that clients log in to and rely on every day. You’ll own significant parts of the app and, just as importantly, partner on the data contract that feeds it, the critical link between our data platform and the screen. It’s a rare chance to do high-impact work on a modern React codebase, with real ownership and senior people to lean on.

Key responsibilities

• Reporting to Chief Data Officer (CDO)
• Build the client-facing product: build the screens and flows that put our ESG intelligence in front of clients every day.
• Own the data contract: partner with our platform engineer to define and build the API that feeds the portal, clean and versioned, so the front end and back end meet properly.
• Make the data make sense: build interactive dashboards and visualisations with Apache E.Charts that turn dense ESG and climate-risk data into something a non-technical client grasps at a glance.
• Treat tenant isolation as sacred: wire up authentication and multi-tenancy so a client only ever sees their own data. This is a hard security invariant, never an afterthought.
• Keep the bar high: write typed, tested code in a strict TypeScript codebase backed by a shared design system, because this product carries real client trust.
• Build with AI as standard: use agentic coding tools such as Claude Code as a normal part of how you work and improve our agent-oriented codebase as you go.
• Work with humans, not just machines: team up with the platform engineer, the data team and product to decide what gets built and how it should feel.

What you’ll bring

We run a modern React stack and you’ll be hands-on with it from day one:

• 4+ years building production React in TypeScript (React 19, strict TS, so you should be properly at home here)
• Strong command of modern React patterns: client-side routing, data fetching and caching, state management, forms with validation
• Solid component-driven UI skills, with the discipline to work inside a shared, tokenised design system
• Experience building data-rich interfaces and charts (we use Apache ECharts), turning complex data into clear visuals
• Comfort integrating with REST APIs and thinking about the data contract itself, not just consuming what you're handed
• Genuine care for multi-tenant security and the judgement to treat tenant isolation as non-negotiable

Bonus points

• A real testing habit across unit and end-to-end tests
• Comfortable building and deploying single-page applications on AWS
• Fluency, or real curiosity, with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code
• Experience defining API contracts or light backend work alongside the platform team
• A good eye for design and accessibility (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG)
• You've shipped and scaled a product in a startup or scale-up before
• Interest in ESG, climate or sustainability, and the difference good data can make

Compensation and Incentives

• Base Salary: $125k - $145k + super (based on experience)
