Data Scientist
We're partnering with an established fintech that's using data science to solve complex business problems at scale. Operating in a highly digital environment, data sits at the centre of decision-making, giving the team the opportunity to test ideas quickly, measure outcomes, and create meaningful impact across the business.
As the company continues to invest in its Data & ML capabilities, they're looking for a Data Scientist to join a collaborative team where curiosity, analytical thinking and commercial impact are valued just as highly as technical expertise.
About the role:
This is an opportunity to apply statistics, machine learning and advanced analytics to solve real business problems. You'll work closely with commercial teams to understand complex challenges, identify opportunities, and develop data-driven solutions that create measurable value.
The role has a particular focus on marketing and growth, but you'll be joining a wider Data Science function and working alongside experienced Data Scientists on a variety of business-critical initiatives.
This is a role for someone who enjoys asking the right questions, applying the appropriate analytical techniques, and taking ownership of problems from initial exploration through to models being deployed into production and delivering measurable impact.
What you'll do:
- Frame business challenges as data science problems and identify the most appropriate analytical approach.
- Develop statistical and machine learning models that improve decision making and business performance.
- Design and evaluate experiments, causal analyses and predictive models to generate actionable insights.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand priorities and translate data into commercial value.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure models are successfully deployed, monitored and continue delivering value in production.
- Identify new opportunities where data science can improve efficiency and support business growth.
About you:
We're looking for someone with a strong academic foundation who enjoys applying theory to real-world business challenges.
You'll likely have:
- 3+ years' experience in a Data Science or advanced analytics role.
- A degree in Mathematics, Statistics or another highly quantitative discipline, with a Master's degree or above preferred.
- Strong Python skills for data analysis, statistical modelling and machine learning.
- Excellent understanding of statistical methods, modelling techniques and when to apply them appropriately.
- Experience building models that have been deployed into production and created measurable business value.
- Confidence translating ambiguous business questions into structured analytical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to take ownership from problem definition through to business impact.
Experience working with marketing analytics, experimentation, attribution or customer behaviour would be beneficial, but the strongest candidates will be those with excellent data science fundamentals and a passion for solving business problems.
Why join?
This is a business where data genuinely drives decisions. With a highly digital product and rich datasets, you'll be able to form hypotheses, test them quickly and see the impact of your work in real time.
You'll be joining a collaborative Data & ML team within an established fintech that combines the stability of a successful business with the agility and autonomy of a smaller organisation. Rather than working on isolated research projects or predefined tickets, you'll have the opportunity to shape solutions, influence decision-making and see your work translate into measurable commercial outcomes.
The company offers a flexible hybrid working model (typically two to three days a week in their central Stockholm office), modern tooling, excellent benefits and the opportunity to work alongside experienced Data Scientists in an environment that values continuous learning, collaboration and technical excellence.
If you're a Data Scientist who enjoys combining strong statistical thinking with practical problem solving - and wants to see your work make a tangible business impact - we'd love to hear from you.
