Engineering Director – Development Center

The Slovenian Development Center plays a key role in shaping the future of Greentube’s technology landscape and gaming platform. This position combines technical leadership, organizational development, and strategic execution to strengthen and scale a high-performing engineering organization. Working closely with teams across Slovenia and Austria, the role drives innovation, engineering excellence, and long-term growth while ensuring strong alignment within an international environment.

• Lead the strategic and operational development of the Slovenian Development Center, ensuring alignment with Greentube’s overall technology vision and business objectives
• Drive engineering excellence by establishing scalable development standards, governance structures, and best practices across teams
• Support architectural decisions and technology initiatives that improve scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability of software solutions
• Foster a strong engineering culture built on quality, innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Enable efficient delivery by supporting agile ways of working, DevOps practices, CI/CD processes, and performance-driven decision making
• Monitor operational performance, delivery metrics, and key business indicators to ensure successful execution of goals and initiatives
• Develop and grow technical teams by supporting talent development, succession planning, and long-term organizational capability building
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the group, including regular interaction with headquarters in Vienna and responsibility for both Slovenian office locations ( Ljubljana and Maribor)
  
  

• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, including several years in hands-on software development before moving into engineering leadership
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing software engineering teams, engineering organizations, or development centers
• Strong technical credibility with the ability to discuss software architecture, cloud technologies, distributed systems, DevOps practices, and modern engineering approaches with senior technical stakeholders
• Proven experience building, scaling, or transforming engineering organizations while maintaining engineering quality and technical excellence
• Track record of defining technology strategy and translating architectural vision into successful execution
• Experience mentoring engineering leaders, architects, and senior software engineers while fostering a strong engineering culture
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills within international, cross-functional organizations
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic execution
• Experience with budget planning, organizational scaling, and technology investments is considered an advantage
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
