About the Opportunity

A growing technology-driven organisation in Helsinki is seeking an experienced AWS Developer to join its cloud engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on modern, scalable cloud-native solutions, contributing to the design, development, and optimisation of critical applications and services hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The successful candidate will play a key role in building secure, resilient, and highly available systems while collaborating closely with software engineers, DevOps specialists, architects, and product stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Build and optimise serverless solutions using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Step Functions.
• Develop and maintain microservices using modern programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• Create and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Work closely with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Ensure cloud solutions meet security, scalability, and performance requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
• Contribute to platform improvements and cloud best practices.

Required Experience:

• Commercial experience developing applications within AWS environments.
• Strong understanding of core AWS services including:
• EC2
• Lambda
• ECS/EKS
• S3
• RDS
• API Gateway
• CloudWatch
• IAM
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Strong programming skills in at least one modern language (Python, Java, Node.js, TypeScript or similar).
• Experience working with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines.
• Understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerised environments.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures.
• Experience with event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
• AWS certifications (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect, or similar).
