Who are we?
Genero is a global creative platform that connects marketers with independent creative talent on demand. We partner with leading brands such as L’Oréal, Hilton, the BBC, P&G, and Nestlé to produce high-quality, platform-perfect content quickly and at scale.
About the job:
Position: UI/Digital Designer
Type: Fixed-term contract, 2 months with possibility to extend
Location: Remote WITHIN Australia
Role Responsibilities
We’re going through a brand refresh. The direction is established, but there’s still room for defining the edges of the brand. We need someone who can take the system and not only apply that across everything the business touches, but also help slightly define and push what else the brand could be.
You’ll need to wear a few hats and manage multiple things at once. You'll be collaborating closely with the Senior UX/UI Designer so you will need to be someone who can take direction and also voice ideas when something won't hold up.
What you'll be working on
- Adding to our design system
- Building on our brand guidelines to guide our wider team
- Internal templates like Google Slides and Docs
- Email marketing templates
- Paid social and display advertising creative
- Organic social templates
- Business cards, letterheads, email signatures
- And others
Bonus if you can also turn your hand to motion graphics or icon/illustration work – not required, but definitely a plus.
What we need from you:
- 3–5 years experience, comfortable working independently
- Strong Figma fluency. You live and breathe the platform, knowing in depth auto-layout, prototyping, components and variables – not just "I've used Figma." You're not just making things look good. You're building components that scale, that work the second time someone touches them, and the tenth.
- Comfort across formats is a must. One day you're working on a deck, the next you're building out a social ad, another you're on Figma.
- Brand refresh or rebrand experience is a plus, not a requirement
- Comfortable with a fast pace and a fixed-term scope: the goal is to leave behind a system the team can run with on their own, not deliverables that need ongoing hand-holding
- Good UX instincts. We're not looking for a UX wizard, but you should have instincts of what good feels and works like from a user's perspective and you apply that thinking regardless of the format or audience.
How it'll work
A quick morning check-in – what you're working on, anything in your way. Nothing heavier than that. You'll work closely with the Senior UX/UI Designer on the project but you'll be trusted to run with your own time.
Process
Portfolio review, a conversation, then a proper walk-through of a few pieces from your portfolio (finished work to figma file) – we want to hear the thinking behind the work and your process, not just see the output.
Logistics
Local / same timezone preferred. Fixed-term, 2 months, with a real possibility of moving to an ongoing arrangement if it's a good fit on both sides.
Interested?
Apply with your portfolio and a quick cover letter telling us about your work situation and how you like to work. We're real people on the other end of this, so we'd love a real response, not a fully LLM-generated one.
Please submit your cover letter and resume as one PDF.
