A Bit About The Role

At Bankwest, we're transforming to become Australia's favourite digital bank, and product design is critical to how we get there. As part of a team that values curiosity, collaboration and bold thinking, you'll help create secure, simple and intuitive digital experiences that build customer trust.

Working within our Trust & Security portfolio, you'll partner with Product Managers, Engineers and fellow designers to shape experiences across web and mobile. Whether you're improving how customers verify their identity, helping protect them from scams or making security interactions feel more seamless, you'll contribute to experiences that make banking safer and simpler for our customers.

Your day-to-day

Discover and shape opportunities

• Contribute to discovery activities using research, customer insights and data to understand customer needs and identify opportunities.
• Help shape customer problems, participate in workshops and support product direction with evidence-based insights.
  
  

Design, test and iterate

• Create customer journeys, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and polished UI designs in Figma.
• Test and refine solutions using customer feedback and qualitative and quantitative insights.
• Apply systems thinking to create connected, intuitive customer experiences.
  
  

Collaborate and contribute

• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers and stakeholders throughout discovery and delivery.
• Clearly communicate your design thinking and contribute to workshops, design critiques and agile ceremonies.
• Contribute to our design system to create consistent, accessible and high-quality experiences.
  
  

A Bit About You

We're looking for a Product Designer who enjoys working across the full design lifecycle, from helping shape problems through to designing, prototyping and validating solutions.

You're curious, collaborative and customer-focused. You enjoy simplifying complexity, working through ambiguity and partnering with others to deliver meaningful customer outcomes.

We're interested in hearing from people with:

• 3+ years' experience designing digital products within cross-functional product teams.
• Experience contributing to discovery, research and end-to-end product design.
• Strong UX, interaction and visual design skills, with proficiency in Figma.
• An understanding of customer journeys and the ability to translate insights into intuitive digital experiences.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience using AI tools to support research, ideation, prototyping and design workflows, while applying sound judgement and responsible use.
• A growth mindset and a portfolio that demonstrates thoughtful product design and customer impact.
  
  

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with experimentation or metrics-driven product development.
• Experience designing for identity, authentication, fraud, scams or other trust and security experiences.
