HR Assistant – Work From Home

Location: UK Wide (Remote / Home Based)

Salary: £12 – £16 per hour (£23,400 – £31,200 per annum equivalent, based on a 37.5-hour week)

Job Type: Part-Time (Full-Time options also available)

Reporting To: HR Manager (Client Side)

About the Opportunity

Vita CV is currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a UK-based business building out its people operations capability. We are looking to appoint an HR Assistant on a part-time, fully remote basis. This is suited to candidates with prior HR exposure who want to develop within a structured, supportive people team.

About the Role

The HR Assistant will support day-to-day people operations including employee records, onboarding administration, HR documentation, and general team support across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR system data
  • Support new starter onboarding including paperwork, accounts, and welcome packs
  • Prepare HR letters, contracts, and routine documentation
  • Help coordinate training sessions, reviews, and HR communications
  • Support holiday, absence, and time-off tracking
  • Respond to general employee queries and signpost to relevant team members
  • Help maintain HR policies, handbooks, and internal documentation

What We're Looking For

  • Some prior HR, people operations, or administrative exposure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential employee information
  • Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and HR systems
  • Self-motivated and reliable in a fully remote environment
  • A stable home internet connection and a quiet workspace

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Exposure to HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, HiBob, Personio, or PeopleHR
  • Studying towards or completed a CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
