Senior Full Stack Engineer (Backend-Leaning) – Travel Tech
Contract, Outside IR35
Remote (UK only)
£400-500/day
A fast-growing travel concierge startup is building a React Native app for iOS and Android, and needs a backend-leaning engineer to own the systems behind it.
You'll be building:
- Backend APIs in Node.js, Express.js, TypeScript, MongoDB and Mongoose
- Auth (JWT, refresh tokens, OTP), user profiles, trip planning, bookings, notifications
- Integrations with Firebase, Twilio, MailerSend, maps/location, payments
- Clean, well-documented APIs for the mobile team to build on
What you'll bring:
- Strong Node.js/Express/TypeScript backend chops
- Sharp MongoDB/Mongoose schema design
- Experience building backend systems for mobile apps
- Comfort working with or alongside React Native
- Startup/small-team pace
Bonus points: travel, booking, marketplace or fintech background; AWS, Docker, CI/CD; Jest/API testing.
