Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Project Manager – Financial Control to oversee financial governance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across projects. The role ensures financial discipline, transparency, and compliance while supporting project delivery through effective financial planning and monitoring.


Key Responsibilities


Project Financial Planning & Budgeting

  • Develop and manage detailed project budgets, financial models, and forecasts
  • Partner with project teams to align budgets with project scope and timelines
  • Monitor budget utilization and identify potential financial risks early

Financial Monitoring & Control

  • Track project expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets
  • Conduct variance analysis (budget vs actuals) and recommend corrective actions
  • Implement cost control measures to improve project profitability

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare periodic financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs for stakeholders
  • Provide insights on project financial performance and risks
  • Support senior management with strategic financial decision-making

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements
  • Maintain proper documentation for financial transactions and approvals
  • Support internal and external audits related to project finances

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with finance, procurement, and project teams to ensure financial alignment
  • Communicate financial status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders clearly
  • Act as a key financial advisor to project managers and business leaders

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms
  • Drive automation and standardization in financial controls
  • Support implementation of ERP or financial systems enhancements

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Advanced financial analysis and cost control skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, ERP tools)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • CA / CPA / CFA / MBA (Finance) preferred
  • 5–10 years of experience in financial control, project finance, or FP&A
  • Experience working in project-based environments (e.g., IT, consulting, infrastructure, or manufacturing)

  • Budget adherence and cost variance
  • Forecast accuracy
  • Project profitability / margin improvement
  • Timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting
  • Compliance audit results
