GMS is supporting the recruitment process for an affiliated company, UniP Ukraine LLC, which is seeking an experienced Development Lead to drive the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of its multi-tenant parking platform.
UniP Ukraine LLC develops Mobility Operating System, SaaS platforms, and Smart & Safe City solutions based on process-oriented, event-driven transaction systems with an open technology architecture.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining software architecture, technical decision-making, engineering management, and direct contribution to production code.
Please note that the employment contract will be signed directly with UniP Ukraine LLC.
Role Responsibilities:
- Building a multi-tenant parking platform with billing and operator dashboard, including Ukrainian fiscal compliance, and enabling zero-downtime migration from legacy systems.
- Owning end-to-end technical architecture: parking domain microservices, multi-tenant platform layer, billing and payment subsystem, database design, and integration APIs with PSPs and fiscal providers.
- Personally developing and supervising the development of critical-path production code: session state machine, double-entry ledger schema, payment orchestration logic, and the most complex pieces of the rebuild. Defining and owning the product roadmap with the founders: scope, sequence, milestones, and go/no-go criteria for stage.
- Owning the engineering backlog, prioritizing, refining, scheduling, delivering, and assigning versioning.
- Determining and approving the engineering budget with founders: tooling licenses, infrastructure spend, team capacity, and contractor decisions.
- Hiring, onboarding, retaining, and mentoring the engineering team - growing from 5- 6 today to 10 - 12 at peak.
Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in a formal technical leadership role (Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, Engineering Manager, Lead Architect, VP Engineering, or prior CTO).
- At least 2 years writing production backend code in JVM (Kotlin or Java); working competence in Go.
- Deep PostgreSQL knowledge, including query optimization, indexing, replication, partitioning, and Row-Level Security.
- Familiarity with time-series databases (TimescaleDB, ClickHouse) for billing CDR storage.
- Microservice migration experience from a monolith or distributed monolith.
- Architecture-level understanding of mobile offline-first sync - idempotency keys, conflict resolution, and state reconciliation failure modes.
- Experience integrating AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Diffblue, or similar) into a production engineering process.
- Ability to produce and review architecture diagrams, ERDs, and ADRs.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent software development qualification.
