Senior Java Engineer

I'm looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join a global technology company developing mission-critical SaaS products. You'll become part of an international team working on the modernization of a large-scale platform, driving technical decisions and leading backend engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Design and delivery of core backend services and large-scale data migration initiatives;
Drive architecture discussions and technical planning with client engineering teams;
Design integration and synchronization solutions between legacy and modern systems;
Define engineering standards and mentor other developers;
Ensure high code quality through code reviews, testing, and best engineering practices;
Troubleshoot production issues and lead root-cause analysis;
Collaborate closely with distributed teams across the US, UK, and Brazil;
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirement:

6+ years of commercial Java development experience;
Previous experience in a Technical Lead or Lead Engineer role;
Strong experience building scalable backend systems and REST APIs;
Experience with distributed systems, messaging, and cloud environments;
Strong SQL and relational database knowledge;
Experience with large-scale system integration or data migration projects;
Ability to make technical decisions, mentor engineers, and lead architecture discussions;
Excellent English communication skills;
Experience working in Agile environments.

Nice to have:

Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor);
Experience with SaaS or multi-tenant platforms;
Experience leading enterprise-scale migration projects;
Experience integrating with third-party systems.
