Junior Cloud Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Junior Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of cloud platforms while gaining hands-on experience with cloud technologies, system administration, automation, and infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure, system performance, logs, and alerts to ensure optimal availability and reliability.
• Support the administration and monitoring of AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Perform routine system health checks and monitor cloud resource utilization.
• Assist in system performance testing, validation, and infrastructure readiness activities.
• Support patch management, including pre- and post-patch validation testing.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for infrastructure and system changes.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, server, networking, and cloud-related issues, escalating complex incidents when necessary.
• Assist with backup, restore, and disaster recovery testing activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, and change records.
• Follow IT operational processes, security standards, and incident management procedures.
• Participate in on-call standby rotations to support critical production incidents when required.
• Provide support during weekends or public holidays for planned maintenance or urgent operational issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, cloud operations, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Exposure to scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python is an advantage.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies or cloud-native services is a plus.
• AWS and/or Microsoft Azure certifications (or a willingness to pursue them) are advantageous.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to participate in standby support and occasional after-hours maintenance activities.
