For our core cloud platform, Nexus, we are looking for a Cloud Orchestration Lead: a hands-on technical leader who can guide a Go development team and help build new features in the core integration and orchestration layer of the Nebul Cloud platform.

This is a role for someone who combines deep software engineering expertise with strong technical leadership. Someone who understands distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, platform orchestration and what it takes to build reliable systems at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Cloud Orchestration Lead, you will play a central role in shaping the architecture, technical direction and delivery of our Nexus orchestration platform.

Nexus is the core integration and orchestration layer within the Nebul Cloud platform. It enables the automation, coordination and delivery of services across our cloud environment and provides internal teams with the platform capabilities they need to develop, deploy and operate their services independently.

You will lead a team of engineers while staying close to the technology. You will help design and build new features, improve the platform architecture, strengthen engineering quality and solve complex technical challenges across backend development, cloud infrastructure, security and distributed systems.

You will work closely with product, platform, infrastructure and leadership stakeholders to ensure the team delivers robust, scalable and production-ready solutions that support both operational needs and long-term platform strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a Go-focused development team, supporting delivery, technical growth and engineering quality.

Drive architectural decisions for the Nexus orchestration and integration layer, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, maintainability and security.

Design, build and improve cloud-native services using technologies such as Go, Python and modern backend frameworks.

Develop new features in the core orchestration layer of the Nebul Cloud platform.

Provide customer-facing and stream-aligned teams with XaaS capabilities and platform services that allow them to develop and operate their own services independently.

Guide the implementation of secure authentication and authorization solutions using IAM, Kerberos, OIDC and platforms such as Keycloak.

Collaborate company-wide with engineers on system performance, service optimization, reliability and platform automation.

Establish and promote best practices in code quality, testing, observability, CI/CD and deployment processes.

Conduct code reviews, support technical problem-solving and ensure high engineering standards across the team.

Translate product, platform and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Contribute to hiring, onboarding and team-building efforts to strengthen the engineering capability over time.

What Your Day Will Not Look Like

This is not a pure people-management role where you are removed from the technology.

This is not a maintenance-only role focused on keeping legacy systems alive without the opportunity to improve architecture, quality or delivery.

This is not a delivery coordination role without technical ownership.

You will be expected to lead, guide, challenge, design and contribute.

What You Bring

Strong experience as a senior, lead or principal backend/software engineer, with a clear progression into technical leadership.

Proven ability to lead engineering teams and drive delivery in complex, distributed environments.

Deep hands-on experience with backend development, preferably with strong experience in Go.

Solid understanding of modern service-oriented architecture, distributed systems and cloud-native engineering.

Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Practical expertise in secure system design, including authentication, authorization and access management.

Strong understanding of scalable system design, performance optimization and operational reliability.

Experience improving engineering quality through testing strategies, code reviews, development standards and observability.

A pragmatic leadership style, strong communication skills and a clear ownership mindset.

The ability to balance hands-on engineering work with mentoring, coordination and strategic technical direction.

Bonus Points If You Have

Experience leading teams in hybrid or international environments.

Strong familiarity with Go, Kubernetes, platform engineering and underlying cloud infrastructure.

Experience modernizing legacy systems or moving platforms toward more scalable architectures.

Experience with XaaS models, internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-service environments.

Involvement in hiring, technical interviewing and onboarding engineers.

Experience working in high-throughput, security-sensitive or mission-critical environments.
