Business Intelligence Engineer, Retail SupplyChain Initiative (RSI)

Amazon
Luxembourg · Full-time · Not Applicable

Description

This position can be based out of either London or Luxembourg.

The Retail Supply Chain Initiatives (RSI) team is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer who thrives in a collaborative, creative, and fast-paced environment where ambiguity is the norm and analytical thinking drives impact.

What You'll Do

You will design, develop, and automate analytical models and data pipelines that drive supply chain decision-making across EU retail operations. This includes building scalable tools and frameworks to analyze buying system performance, identify root causes of efficiency gaps and ordering defects, and deliver actionable insights to business partners. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders — from program managers to technical teams — translating complex data into clear recommendations that influence operational improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong data mining, statistical modelling, and quantitative analysis skills
  • Experience building end-to-end analytical solutions — from concept through to production
  • Ability to dive deep into large datasets to identify root causes and implement scalable, long-term solutions
  • Comfort working in ambiguity: structuring undefined problems, prioritising independently, and driving projects to completion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior stakeholders and constructively challenge assumptions with data
  • A self-starter mentality with a hands-on approach, capable of supporting multiple initiatives simultaneously across a cross-functional environment

This role is based in Amazon's EU offices in London or Luxembourg

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data models, ETL pipelines, and automated reporting solutions to support supply chain analytics
  • Develop and manage dashboards and visualizations (QuickSight, Tableau) to surface KPIs and operational insights to stakeholders
  • Perform deep-dive root cause analyses on buying system performance, ordering defects, and efficiency gaps
  • Translate complex business questions into structured analytical frameworks and deliver clear, actionable results
  • Partner cross-functionally with program managers, operations, and technical teams to identify opportunities and drive data-driven improvements

Manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritising effectively in a fast-paced environment

About The Team

The Retail Supply Chain Initiatives (RSI) team's vision is to evolve EU Retail inbound into the most cost-efficient and selling partner-friendly integrated supply chain. The BI team within RSI provides the analytical backbone for this mission — delivering timely, actionable insights across dashboards, financial reporting, and data products that serve 4,000+ users across the EU stores organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling
  • Experience working as a BIE in a technology company
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in the data/BI space

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
