Job Description

As one of our Freelance Project Partners, your objective is to define the technical foundations of a strategic mobile application redesign program, deliver a complete Sprint 0, lead the technology choices, and prepare the ground for large-scale delivery.

Key Responsibilities Might Include

• Define the target technical architecture and challenge technology decisions.
• Prepare complete development environments, Git branching strategy, CI/CD pipelines, development standards and code conventions.
• Set up quality and security tools, test frameworks, technical quality criteria and technical repositories.
• Lead the validation of proposed solutions and participate in architecture reviews, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
• Anticipate the technical impacts of business decisions.
• Define Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) strategy, shared code layers, and iOS/Android-specific components.
• Guarantee KMP model maintainability and accompany teams in adopting the technology.
• Document architecture, development processes, installation guides, contribution standards and project templates.
• Ensure developer environments are reproducible and reduce onboarding time to a minimum.
• Support functional analysis by participating in workshops, challenging technical feasibility, identifying constraints and helping define APIs.
• Contribute to User Story writing, dependency mapping and impact analysis.
• Perform technical estimations, identify assumptions and risks, prepare release plans and roadmaps.
• Support trade-off decisions between business value and technical complexity.
• Define and implement the AI governance strategy across analysis, architecture, development, quality, release and run phases.
• Establish AI best practices, ensure security and GDPR compliance, frame AI tool usage and measure productivity gains.
• Coach and federate development teams around a shared technical vision.
  
  

Profile

• Senior-level experience as a Tech Lead or Mobile Application Architect.
• Expert skills in mobile software development, Android, iOS and production mobile applications.
• Strong experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) on several production projects, including native Android and iOS development.
• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD, Git, code quality and security tooling.
• Proven ability to define a robust, scalable and maintainable mobile architecture.
• Demonstrated experience running a complete Sprint 0.
• Strong coaching and team accompaniment capabilities.
• Advanced use of AI in software delivery.
• Experience with Flutter is a strong plus.
• Tools: Confluence, Jira.
• Languages: English required; Dutch and French are nice to have.
• Pragmatic, delivery-oriented mindset with constant search for the best compromise between quality, time and cost.
• Strong strategic vision, long-term orientation and architecture mindset.
• High sensitivity to generative AI, active technology watch and ability to translate innovation into concrete project gains.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical profiles.
• Mission duration: 6 months, with possible renewal.
• Location: Brussels, Belgium.
• An entrepreneurial experience or ambition is a plus (extra-professional or extra-academic as well).
