Full-Stack Developer (PHP/Python) – API & Integration Development

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to join a multidisciplinary team working on a large-scale biometric identification platform. The role focuses on the development of APIs, web services, and integration solutions that support mission-critical applications operating in a secure, high-availability environment.

Role Overview

You will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of backend services and APIs that enable data exchange between internal applications and external partner systems. You will work closely with architects, frontend developers, backend developers, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and web services.
  • Build integration solutions for data exchange between multiple applications and external systems.
  • Participate in technical analysis, solution design, and architecture discussions.
  • Collaborate with frontend and backend development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop secure and scalable backend applications using PHP and Python.
  • Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Support database design and integration using SQL and NoSQL technologies.
  • Develop and execute automated tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
  • Contribute to frontend development when required using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Ensure compliance with application security and coding best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Full-Stack Development with expertise in PHP and Python.
  • Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs and web services.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and application design principles.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience implementing secure coding and application security practices.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and quality assurance processes.
  • Understanding of modern software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience working in large-scale integration projects.
  • Knowledge of containerization and cloud-native development practices.
  • Experience in high-availability or mission-critical environments.

Languages

  • Fluent French or Dutch.
  • Passive knowledge of the second national language is required.
  • Good command of English.

Contract Duration

  • Initial contract until December 2026 with the possibility of extension.
