Overview

We're seeking four experienced Senior Golang Engineers to join a fast-paced engineering team building highly scalable backend platforms within a modern fintech/payments environment.

You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and operating high-performance microservices that power critical business and transaction processing systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex distributed architectures, event-driven systems, and cloud-native technologies at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang.
• Develop and enhance microservices architectures supporting high-volume transaction processing.
• Build resilient, event-driven systems leveraging modern messaging technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, product, and platform teams.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and best engineering practices.
• Ensure services are secure, observable, performant, and highly available.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and operational support activities.
• Drive continuous improvement across development and delivery processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing backend applications in Golang.
• Previous experience working within fintech, payments, banking, or other high-transaction environments.
• Proven track record designing, building, and operating microservices architectures in production.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and scalable application design.
• Experience building high-throughput, low-latency transaction processing systems.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Strong database experience across both relational and NoSQL technologies, including:
• PostgreSQL
• MongoDB
• BigQuery
• Experience deploying and managing applications in containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for engineering high-quality software.

Desirable Skills

• Previous PHP development experience.
• Experience working within regulated financial services environments.
• Exposure to cloud-native architectures and modern DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and performance optimisation techniques.
